Highlights
2022

Zippsafe has experienced significant growth and innovation. After a promising year, 2022 was focused on building upon our achievements and elevating the company to new heights. No longer a startup, we are now in the midst of the scale-up phase. See for yourself!

A lot has transpired, starting with our most important asset, our customers. We've acquired new clients and expanded existing relationships. We are particularly proud that a majority of our customers now come from neighboring countries. In Germany, we have numerous ZippSpace systems, making us easily accessible within a 62-mile radius. Last year, we completed large-scale installations at Emmendingen District Hospital, SRH Central Hospital in Suhl, Ammerland Clinic, Evangelical Elisabeth Clinic in Berlin, and the University Hospitals of Saarland and Freiburg.

In addition to traditional hospitals, Zippsafe served various industries in 2022, including the Dr. Kurt Wolff Group, department store Coop City, and food producer Hilcona. Boasting over 150 customers, with 45 added last year, our Budapest production facility was operating at full capacity. We produced and deployed 509 systems within 62 installations, providing 7,090 individuals with new ZippSpace units in 2022. As a result, our clients saved an incredible 30,526 square feet.

On the personnel front, we welcomed Dr. Urs Rickenbacher as a successor to retiring board members Yves von Ballmoos and Dr. Anja Oswald in time for the June Annual General Meeting. Dr. Oswald will remain with us and, alongside Ramona Urwyler, Dr. Christophe Vetterli, and Urs Baumgartner, formed our newly established Zippsafe Innovation Board in the fall. We held our first workshop in November, with more planned for 2023. In December, we onboarded Osman Mohamed as our new CFO, replacing Tobias Schneider. After a successful transition, Osman will continue to professionalize the Finance, Legal, and Admin departments.

By the end of the year, our team grew to 53 employees, a 40% increase from the start of the year. This growth is primarily due to our ambitious expansion strategy. We're not only working on a new product generation and additional variants of our smart clothing storage solution, but we also expanded our international presence in 2022. With new account managers in the Netherlands and Belgium, we established a foundation for effective handling of the BENELUX countries. We even hired our first employee in the USA.

In 2022, we embarked on numerous journeys. With American investor Unorthodox Ventures by our side, our expansion into the US market was a natural progression. To better understand the market, Carlo Loderer and Jonathan Grahm traveled to the US in the fall. Their participation in the Healthcare Design Conference was a resounding success, as Zippsafe won three prestigious Nightingale Awards. Promising trips to Israel and Lithuania also took place with the goal of meeting distributors. We have already partnered with Polytex, a Tel Aviv-based laundry dispensing systems company. Hansab, a company focused on sustainable and digital approaches in the healthcare sector within the Baltic States, also expressed interest. In the upcoming year, both could help us increase Zippsafe's global presence and revolutionize the locker market.

Soon, our product lineup will expand beyond just storage solutions. In collaboration with Kantonsspital Baden, we are developing a product for patient item transportation. The ZippBag, another intelligent bag-based solution, can attach directly to a hospital bed and may be available as early as 2023. We will keep you updated. We anticipate a successful year, so stay tuned!

At the end of the year, our team numbered 53 employees, a full 40% more than at the beginning of the year. This growth is largely due to our ambitious expansion strategy. Not only are we working on a new product generation and further variants of our smart clothing storage solution, but we have also positioned ourselves more internationally in 2022. With new account managers in the Netherlands and Belgium, we have laid the foundation for the effective handling of the BENELUX countries. We were even able to sign up the first employee in the USA.

As you can easily see, we have taken a number of journeys in 2022. With the American investor Unorthodox Ventures at our side, the step to the USA was obvious. To better understand the market, Carlo Loderer and Jonathan Grahm traveled to the land of unlimited opportunities in fall. The participation in the Healthcare Design Conference was a real success, and Zippsafe won three of the prestigious Nightingale Awards. Further trips to Israel and Lithuania weren’t less promising. With the respective intention of meeting distributors, once again the bags were packed. The Polytex representatives at the Tel Aviv site, specializing in laundry dispensing systems, have already been won as partners. The company Hansab, active in the Baltic States, with a focus on sustainable and digital approaches in the healthcare sector, also showed interest. In the following year, both could support us in making Zippsafe known and thus revolutionize the locker market globally.

By the way, we will soon have more than "just" changing solutions in our product range. As you may have heard, we are working together with the Kantonsspital Baden on a product for the transport of patient items. The ZippBag, again an intelligent bag-based solution, can be attached directly to the hospital bed and could be on the market as early as 2023. We will keep you updated in any case. It should be a successful year, stay tuned!
