Zippsafe
has
a
new
CFO

Now that our long-time CFO Tobias Schneider will leave for new adventures, we are delighted to have found the perfect successor in Osman Mohamed. After numerous rounds, he prevailed over the many applicants and started at our headquarters in Glattbrugg on December 1st. We have already had the opportunity to get to know the likable finance all-rounder and would like to give you the opportunity to do the same. You will quickly see why Osman was chosen!

Osman is a man of the world. Growing up in Düsseldorf, he has already called many places home. Born in Somalia, he came to Germany at an early age. He later studied in Eindhoven and Venlo at the Fontys Int. Business School of Economics, did a semester abroad in Hong Kong, and spent half a year at the ETH in Zurich to complete his degree in business administration.

Before he found his way back to Switzerland many years later and started a family here, (Osman is the proud father of a young daughter), he first started his professional career in corporate finance at KPMG in Düsseldorf. He learned the basic tools and dealt with topics such as risk consulting and transaction services. After just under three years, his spurs were earned and Osman moved on to the Theo Müller Group in Luxembourg, where he led operational and strategic audits as Financial Assurance Manager, was responsible for post-merger integrations and managed the controlling of joint ventures.

The next exciting station in his career is also his last, before Zippsafe came into his life. He started as an internal auditor at the Bell Food Group and held various positions as an in-house consultant over the last few years. From strategic support to CEO in France, to Head of Supply Chain Controlling at Hügli in Germany, to Country CFO at Eisberg in Austria, and most recently as Head of Business Development & CEO Office at Hilcona in Liechtenstein; Osman was once again on the road. Because he loves challenges, he has also added an Executive MBA at the University of St. Gallen, which he completed with flying colors in the summer of 2021.

The MBA and the various roles during his time at the Bell Food Group sharpened his strategic and entrepreneurial know-how, and he was able to breathe some start-up air by building up new markets. It was this air that prompted him to apply for a job with us. It quickly became clear during the interviews that Osman and Zippsafe were an excellent match. Not only was he convincing with his impressive career. In particular, his profound and broad expertise and his winning manner made the difference.

In addition to his many years in the food convenience business, he is also no stranger to bag-based solutions. Besides his studies in 2006, he founded an eCommerce start-up with colleagues, which sold laptop bags to students from various universities all over Europe. Osman and his team were responsible for the development, production and distribution of "PreventiveDesign", and in just under two years the young company achieved an impressive turnover of 1.8 million euros. In 2007, the company was sold to a large Dutch trading group.

At Zippsafe, he will also be able to work on smart soft storage solutions. We are very pleased to have found the ideal new CFO in Osman. At the same time, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Tobias for the last six years at Zippsafe. He has been with us pretty much from the beginning and has played a formative role in developing the company so that the startup has been able to grow from zero to over 50 people internationally by now. Thank you for your tireless commitment and great work - #alwaysazipper.
